You know, Blizzard created something like this for their character talent allocator. It generates a crazy long code that anyone can type in and get the talent allocation scheme you created. I'm sure this is possible for this application too. Just a matter of getting someone motivated with the programming skills.

Hmm, perhaps the site could be programmed to generate a code or txt file which could be emailed to the TO. It's a bit beyond what the site does currently, but would be a good option to think about if it were deployed as a tourney tool.

If there were a way for the player to enter the army list and submit it ahead of time that would be very helpful - my only reservation is making more work for the TO tourney-day. If that can be gotten around, then great!

When it comes to a TO inputting army lists - what about if there was an offline program like Forward Kommander you could use to enter and save the details? It's still data entry, but it doesn't take too long to do in Mk2.

One thing I think you guys should have mentioned in the section about introducing new players to the game is No Quarter Magazine. A quick browse of the contents of each magazine (found on the Privateer website) would lead new players to some really good faction tactics articles, model articles, and some other interesting bits for new players. It's not hard (at least in my area) to get back issues where these articles are found.

I really hate the limbo feel of MK2 and the lame duck feel of MK1. I think if we knew that MK2 wasn't going to change much, then I would say to talk more about it. But I feel that it will still receive some major changes once we see the Retribution and hear the whining of how they " change " the whole game.

So, I think you should still talk about both, but as much as possible, aim to be " Mark " indifferent, as in model/unit strength, weakness, best use, best way to beat, etc. in either form of the game.

Also, I would love to hear the different types of Meta in each. eg In MK1, it was the uber kills and round 1 assassinations and MK2, best values in points, etc.

Again, I am really sorry that I couldn't make it to DicKon, I mean DieCon.

But I feel that it will still receive some major changes once we see the Retribution and hear the whining of how they ” change ” the whole game.

So, I think you should still talk about both, but as much as possible, aim to be ” Mark ” indifferent, as in model/unit strength, weakness, best use, best way to beat, etc. in either form of the game.

Also, I would love to hear the different types of Meta in each. eg In MK1, it was the uber kills and round 1 assassinations and MK2, best values in points, etc.

Again, I am really sorry that I couldn’t make it to DicKon, I mean DieCon.

Stubbs

Mark 2 is the way to go. Let's let go of Mark 1. We are going to be comparing Mark2 beta vs Mark2 official pretty soon as it is. It would be way confusing to compare vs Mark1 also. Our gaming group as moved to M2.

First off Mozeltov on Dave's impending wedding. Dave I am amazed that you lasted as long as you did before "the wedding" took over your life. But after twenty years of my life sentence completed, all I can say is that it is soooo worth it. Congrats mano!!!

I too would love to hear the proposed Protectorate/Cryx casts, even though I am not a player of the above. Though I have been a strong supporter of the Motherland AND cold hard coin, the reason I listen to this podcast is for the overall opinions of ALL factions. Frankly I am sure that the Meta will be a bit weird feeling for the next six months for all Warmachine players as this hangs over our heads . . . but it is what it is. We'll survive. And winter will be here soon enough.

Perhaps a MK II segment within each podcast could be an idea? That way things like this can be handled and yet those of us who like the current Meta and find this too difficult to bear . . . can just fast forward? Just an idea. Anyway this is a rough time of year for any gamer and scheduling but I thank you for giving of your time to support us.

Short and sweet podcast this week! I am a remote listener and wanted to give feedback on MKII. I am a protectorate player and would love to hear the "bonus" protectorate segment. I like Mark II. Sure we got a bunch of stuff turned vanilla, but overall it seems to run a little more quickly on the table. That was one of the biggest issues for me, was trying to coordinate all of my overlapping skills/magic/event triggers. I don't like what PP did to the Bastions. First off they still haven't released them, and fine their plastic, that's OK. But they totally de-buffed them, even before release, and they are expensive! I am looking forward to the new faction/models, a bit to sci-fi for the warmachine universe, but they do look cool. Hopefully they are balanced with the other factions. But overall, giving the jacks more survivability is key. The name is warMACHINE, not trooper swarm. And the big metal guys are the most fun to play with anyways, so make them tuff. That's it, thanks for the casting!!

If you right-click on the download link you should see the option to save the link or file. That should allow you to download the file if just clicking on it starts playing the file.
