Can you explain the dick bubble a bit more I am confused.
Especially with the bulldoze, I don't see how you get more then 2 inches of the initial bulldoze.
Energizer is a cast only once per turn spell that you can make models move 3 inches, I still don't see how that even causes an activation to allow for another bulldoze.

I think it's supposed to be a bubble of jacks around Irusk. I don't think it's as funny as we think it is in this episode. Sorry Flanzer. It's a poorly worded ability. It doesn't explicitly say that Bulldoze only occurs during an activation, it just says that a model can't be Bulldozed more than once an activation (or something like that; don't have the rule in front of me). I think if it were asked on the main boards there would be a ruling/clarification saying a model may be Bulldozed only during the jack's activation. That's from memory, though, and I'm tired so take that with a grain of salt.

Re: Episode 071 - Fight Club/Community Building Events
It was cool to have an episode around community building. That's the theme of my WM blog, so it was particularly interesting to me. If we can manage just a few more players we could probably get a small tournament going, but I really like the idea of Fight Club. It's just reasonable for us yet. I'm definitely going to be keeping that in mind.

Re: Episode 071 - Fight Club/Community Building Events
Hey guys, great show and I really like the fight club idea to build a community. That's something we'll have to try out in southern MD. We would probably do smaller point games but none the less, armies would be painted.
I do have a couple of suggestions for the video battle reports. The first one is a good camera with good picture quality. This might sound like a no brainer but that's one the most important part, quality of the videos. This is something that is missing from Tinman's videos, while I enjoy them, the picture quality could be a lot better. To add on to this, you could add that both armies must be painted. That would be up to you but it would add to the quality.
Second one is, have a pre-game interview with both players. It is a one on one match and you can have a 30 second blurb asking the guy or girl why they decided to take a caster and what he plans on doing in the battle. Think boxing or MMA, where they interview the fighter before the match and he tells them what round he thinks he'll knock out the opponent in or how the fight will go. This should work nicely in Warmachine with the round system and you can have your contestants get cocky or laid back, whatever they feel like. It'll help build up the drama and the audience will learn who the players are and we can root for our favorite player. You could get creative and have a dedicated space in the LGS for the interview, nothing fancy, just a place to ask a couple of questions without the other person around.
Third suggestion is, have a tale of the tape, just like boxing/MMA. It shouldn't be hard but before the match starts, edit in a template with both contestants' army lists and how they match up. If there's a scenario involved, have the scenario edited in as well. People familiar to Warmachine and Hordes should know this already but I play a lot of caster kill only and don't know too many of the scenarios. This should give the audience a clear picture of the participants armies and game conditions.
Finally, try to have a third person perspective during the video taping. IE not someone in the actual battle themselves.
Hope this helps.

Is this where they put the opponents' stats in a column with maybe a small headshot of each? Great suggestions! Can't wait to start making these.

Re: Episode 071 - Fight Club/Community Building Events
I recently listened to episode 71 of the Iron Agenda podcast which focused on Fight Club, a special campaign-like system that the St. Louis community developed to help build their local gaming community. I found the episode to be very interesting because I'm very focused on building my local community and am always on the lookout for new ideas. (And thanks for the SOB mention guys!) The hosts asked people to share their ideas on community building, so I thought I'd write about mine - one local and one regional.
On the local level, we've instituted an annual championship system at our store, The Only Game In Town. The idea came to me from motorsports. Racers race to win each race, but they also earn points at each race towards the annual driver's championship. I figured this would be a good way to encourage participation in our store's activities if various activities could pay points towards a prize at the end of the year. It would also help encourage people to finish tournaments because even if they didn't win, they'd still be collecting points for the championship.
So we instituted the "Biggest SOB" championship as tribute to being the most accomplished SOB. (Somerville Ogrun Bokurs is the name of our club.) You earn points depending on where you place in a tournament, winning an organized league award, winning painting competitions, having a certain percentage of your armies painted, and special events like terrain days or painting days. I'm keeping a running total for each event. Meanwhile, the store's agreed to kick in a certain percentage of entry fees into the purse as store credit. The larger each tournament is, the larger the amount that gets kicked into the purse. At the end of the year, the winner will take 50% of the purse, while second gets 30%, and third takes 20%.
On the regional level, I'm organizing the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament (MATT). This idea comes straight from the New England equivalent that I've been particpating in. Basically we've chosen a central location between the mid-atlantic states for a large tournament. Stores and clubs are encouraged to send teams of 3 people each to the MATT to compete for a traveling trophy. The tournament is run like a regular Steamroller where individuals are all competing to win it like normal. However the team players are never pitted against one another and their wins are pools together to get a running total. The team with the highest number of wins gets the trophy. I'm really hoping an event like this will get some people out who don't normally get to see each other, and better still, cross-pollinate between our gaming communities.
What do you think of these ideas? If you are interested in more details, ask to join our group on Facebook with the name "NJ S.O.B.s". Do you have other ideas to share that are happening in your area?

Re: Episode 071 - Fight Club/Community Building Events
This episode was fantastic! Great tips/points on how to build a community.
We recently started a 'Slow Grow' league and it is booming with success. We are so thrilled. We have about 20-30 people at the local shop every Wed night. A lot of new players keep showing up too. Hopefully it continues.
I like your fight clud idea too. I love playing against painted armies. I do not have all my army painted but I would say I have a good 75% of my force painted. I have nothing against playing people with unpainted armies. I just get more satisfaction playing against painted stuff. In our Slow Grow league people get tons of points for having their army painted and also get points for having their armies based. That really kicked my motivation into high gear for getting my stuff painted and based. It is nice having more motivation to paint.
Anyways, fantastic show, keep up the good work.
